Padhaai organised scholarships for kids in Basveshwar School, Timber Yard Road. The 3 high school boys who received the scholarship deliver newspapers and drop milk sachets in the morning before coming to school. The pride they took to say that they can pay for their own note books and text books was amazing. Imagine a country where every child is educated!

More than 50 percent of girls in India fail to enroll in school and those who do are likely to drop out by the age of 12. At least a 40% of girls in India are not allowed to pursue higher studies, due to the conservative familial ideologies.

World Bank statistics found that fewer than 40 percent of adolescents in India attend secondary schools. The Economist reports that half of 10-year-old rural children could not read at a basic level, over 60% were unable to do division, and half dropped out by the age 14.
